first of all — thank you for being part of the best weekend ever. if you weren’t there with us, we missed you.
but good news !
we heard you all loud and clear, and we decided to do this again next year. if that goes well, we will have no choice but to continue indefinitely. maybe even….forever?
go on…before we get too excited…
this year went exceptionally well, but:
…we underpriced the tickets. that was our mistake!
we always knew 1 500 CZK would be tight, but with it also being our wedding, we felt bad asking people for more.
lesson learned: we would’ve had to ask for more eventually.

long story short:
we estimated the budget (we got pretty close!) to the best of our ability, and we priced the contributions accordingly, but:
- organizing a festival is expensive
- it was our first time doing it
- we didn’t account for several small things (which added up to a big number)

what now?
we would like to make this a yearly happening, but as freelance artists (who are incredibly lucky to have supportive families (whose support we have exhausted)), we need your help to close out this edition and continue* working on the next one.
*we’re already building out a more accurate budget & ticket pricing for the next edition, writing a feedback form (coming to your e-mail inbox soon), reading back our own very extensive notes for future improvements, brainstorming ways to make it more affordable next time (e.g. building our own showers, organizing transport further in advance, optimizing the kitchen to reduce rental costs…) and filling pages (and pages) with big & small ideas to make the next edition even better, sillier, funner, lovely-er, and even magical-er than the first (is that even possible?)

if you can afford to give a little more for those who can’t give as much, we would appreciate it immensely.
we can do it again next year.
any money raised on top of our goal (that is the optimist in us speaking) will go directly towards paying the venue deposit for next year’s edition.
but what does the future hold?the future…
as soon as this is all sorted out and we can afford to pay the deposit for next year (about 50 000 czk), which we will figure out no matter what it takes, we will:
- announce the dates for the next edition
- start working on it immediately (we genuinely cannot wait).

the magic of the first one & the future of the rest are both only possible because of you.
we are so happy that we planned this all ourselves this time, but if we’re gonna do this again, we will need some help: communication, legal & accounting advice, logistics coordination, procurement of materials & equipment…
if you have a skill to contribute — particularly in the realm of event planning and pre-production — and you want to get involved, please reach out to us :)
we’ve asked a lot of you now, so let us give you this:our promise (or three):
1. this whole thing will always be made for our friends & by our friends.
the festival will always be staffed by friends, and we will never sell tickets to the public. in other words, this will remain an invite-only event — not to be exclusive, but to protect the magic that we have all so carefully created. and in order to preserve that magic:
2. we will never let capitalism get its grubby little hands on it.

this philosophy will always be at the core of what we do. money will only be a part of this to the extent that it has to (you pay for the ticket = you come to the thing). which brings us to our final promise:
3. we will always do this with full financial transparency.
tickets will always be priced fairly, and you will always know exactly what your money is paying for: the venue, equipment and other production costs, transportation and accomodation for artists, meals (which will always be included in the price), and a modest but fair fee for those of us who will need to take a lot of time away from work to orchestrate it.
